There Isn’t a “Right” Way
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in building The GIST has been that there isn’t a “right” way to build a company.
There are many different ways to be a great entrepreneur, a great leader. Especially starting out, my co-founders and I often felt pressure to emulate other successful entrepreneurs and leaders, in part because we felt like we didn’t know what we were doing at all!
What my co-founders and I have learned about ourselves as we’ve led the company over the years is that it’s okay to be our authentic and genuine selves, to be vulnerable with our team, to ask for help, to recognize how we want to show up to the world and to lean into our strengths (while also building around our skills gaps!).
