How To Deal With the Guilt of Leaving a Job

“I got a new job, but how do I deal with the guilt of leaving my employer and team understaffed?”

The expert: Melissa Daimler is an HR expert, Silicon Valley veteran and chief learning officer at Udemy . Here’s her advice.

Leaving a job with integrity does not have to include guilt. Your manager and organization will figure out how to manage your departure–it won’t be their first time doing so and won’t be their last. Try to let go of your guilt and focus your energy instead on ensuring your manager has everything they need to know and do when you are no longer there. Here are three things to do before you go:

If possible, provide at least two weeks’ notice to your manager before leaving the organization. You can also make yourself available to them if they have any questions that come up later.

Provide your manager and team members with any documentation, contacts, and open projects/issues that will need attention and follow through before you go. A nice one-pager that has links to this information is a bonus.

December Career Horoscope

Nebula Dec Career Horoscope

Soon we are closing the 2022 chapter of our lives to the sound of “Jingle bells”. Are you prepared to let it go and move on? If yes, we are always happy to see you in Nebula App to tell you what is coming in 2023 and how to better prepare for it 💜

If not, well, you have another month to binge-watch Christmas movies and get comfy with this thought. And while we are slowly processing the events of the past year, here is what you should expect and focus on this month in your career according to astrology. You can find more astrology here.

Hope it gets you a little bit excited because things are about to get a bit magical 💫

Aries – Dream big!

This month is a reminder to dream big with your career. Are you where you saw yourself headed, or have you settled for a position that does not satisfy your inner self? Life comes at you fast, so no one can blame you if you have taken your eye off the prize. However, this month is offering you the chance to do so! Take ownership of your skills and talents and employ them in a way that will open doors to you and manifest your dream career into reality. Perhaps you feel a long way from achieving your dreams, and that is fine… every journey begins with a single step. Let December be that step!

Taurus – Removing the burden!

For you, Taurus, December will be a time of introspection as you must get serious about admitting the burdens you carry around your career. You have been carrying these burdens for a while, and they have become heavy, and you may feel weary. You may immediately know what these burdens are but if not, take some time to look within to understand what is weighing you down. It is important to know this, as you can only truly release it back to the universe and ensure that you are hitting January with a fresh outlook on where things are going.

Gemini – Embrace your inner Air sign!

As an Air sign, you have many natural talents and abilities that enhance your career without you even being aware, such as clarity and communication. However, to excel at work in December, you must lean into the gifts that your inner Air sign offers you, which do not come as naturally. In short, you must focus on being thoughtful, mindful, inventive, and aware of your working situation. Allowing yourself to be present this month will mean that you are struck with moments of intuition and inventiveness that level up your career and offer solutions to progress and improve your career.

Cancer – A fresh start!

December is bringing the new year early for you, Cancer. You are being offered the chance to start a new journey that involves a lot of healing, and if you can be bold enough to follow this energy into your career, then next year is sure to be much more stable and successful than this one may have been. The challenge for you here is to embrace turning a new page and starting a new chapter. Resisting this change will only waste the new and vibrant energy. You may find new people enter your work life and present new opportunities, or you have bold ideas that are outside the box, but that will take your career in a new direction… don’t shy away from these moments!

Leo – Be fair!

You will need to step into the role of mediator during December when it comes to your career. There will be situations arising that may involve conflict and have the possibility of derailing really good projects or positive environments related to your career. The positive news is that these conflicts will not directly involve you. However the fallout of these situations will affect you. Therefore, embracing fairness, logic, reason, and understanding is important. By doing this, you will be able to resolve issues before they become problems – so don’t shy away from stepping in and calming the situation down. You will realize, when it comes to your career, you are the only person equipped to make a positive situation out of a negative one right now.

Virgo – Use your inner power!

There is a lot of inner strength, wisdom, and power within you, Virgo. You may feel that these assets have yet to be utilized recently, at least in your career. However, in December, it must be a priority to step into this strength (even if it feels uncomfortable at first). Many great things await you in your career, and next year is going to be a real turning point for you – however, you will only begin this path and realize the fruits of your labor by stepping into that strength THIS month!

Libra – Take a sensitive approach!

For many of you, it may have felt like the last year of your career was an uphill battle. This means you may have a lot of guards up, and you may have been taking a strong-headed approach. December offers you an opportunity to take a more soft and sensitive approach. Jupiter has re-entered Pisces, which means it is the perfect time to be more kind to others and yourself when it comes to your work, but it also means that you should employ your empathic gifts to understand how you and those you work with feel about situations. This will provide a lot of clarity and put your career in a positive place moving into 2023.

Scorpio – Some things may fall apart – But it’s a great sign!

December is going to be a time of unexpected upheaval for your career. This means that projects may fall through, clients may leave you, or your ideas hit a brick wall! DO NOT FEAR. This is a very good news, although it may not seem to be this way right now. Things are falling apart because you are leveling up in your career. To make place for new and better opportunities you have to let go of some old ones. 2023 is going to be transformative, and in time that will become clear. Do not allow these things to sabotage you. You are on the right path. Keep your eye on the prize and stay strong through the upheaval – much better things will take their place.

Sagittarius – Completion is the key!

Sagittarius, your masterpiece awaits! You will do big things in your career over the next year and take moves that may have only seemed real in your wildest dreams. However, this will only be fully realized if you can take the time to complete things fully. Your spontaneous nature means you bore easily and tend to move on before projects or things are completed! Resist this urge for now, and make completion a priority in December, as this will put you on a really good footing moving into January.

Capricorn – Community and Unity!

December will be a time when you can thrive and make moves in your workplace. The key to making the most of this is unity and community. Co-operation and teamwork are going to be beneficial at this time. The challenge for you is to resist your need to be independent, as while this serves you well most of the time, you must be a team player. Right now, it is the best way to unlock possibilities and ideas you could not realize on your own. Ask for help from others and be ready to give it when others ask the same of you.

Aquarius – Release your inner entrepreneur!

You have all the natural gifts of any great entrepreneur, and you know this. However, you may not employ these gifts all of the time, and it could come from a fear of success. December is a perfect moment of this whole year to embrace this side of yourself. Be strategic in your choices, lean into your natural leadership skills, be money-driven, and view every person you work with or every opportunity you receive as a chance to invest in your career. It is also a great time to start that side hustle you have been thinking about for a long time.

Pisces – Stand your ground!

You may find December to be a time of conflict, arguments, and feud in your working environment. Do not worry, as this will not derail all of the great work you have already achieved. However, to ensure this is the case, you must employ a logical and rational mind and stand firm when the winds start to blow. Being firm in your decisions but making sure this firmness comes from clarity and reason around your choices will ensure that this drama and conflict does not derail your career in any way. The simplest way to do this is to stick to your guns, and be adaptable but unwilling to compromise on what is important to you. Setting boundaries will help with this.
