REVIEW SEASON

Your Manager Can’t Pitch Your Promotion Without These Receipts

Takeaways:

  • Lead with your impact. Instead of listing tasks you completed, explain the results your work produced. Whenever possible, include measurable outcomes like revenue generated, time saved, errors reduced, or positive feedback that demonstrates your contributions.
  • Connect your accomplishments to what leadership cares about. Show how your work supported company goals, improved team performance, or helped customers and colleagues. Write clear, specific statements that your manager can easily reference when discussing your contributions with leadership.
  • Use your performance review to take ownership of your professional story. Documenting your accomplishments helps you recognize the value you’ve created, communicate your strengths, and keep your resume and LinkedIn profile current. It can also reveal where you’re being underutilized or missing opportunities to grow, giving you a clearer picture of your next career steps.

VIBE CODING

How To Vibe Code In 2026: A Beginner’s Guide

Takeaways:

  • You don’t need coding experience to start building your own app. Vibe coding lets you describe what you want in plain English while AI generates the code. Tools like Lovable, Floot and Base44 can help you create apps, customize features, and publish them without starting from scratch.
  • Once you’ve learned the basics, there are ways to potentially make money from vibe coding. You can sell customizable app templates, offer app-building services through platforms like Fiverr or Upwork, or create your own product and charge customers to use it.
  • Start by identifying a real problem you want your app to solve. Build a simple version first, test each feature as you go, and make improvements before launching. Keep your first version simple, and make sure it works reliably and protects users’ data before you share it.

FROM THE ASSIST TEAM

A testimonial graphic features a large white speech bubble outlined in dark navy and pink, containing a quote about organizing and prioritizing weekly wins. A circular portrait of a smiling man appears on the right, with the labels “Andy,” “TA CO-FOUNDER,” and “The Assist team.”

We Stopped Taking Meeting Notes. Our Follow-Through Got Better.

Our team used to spend meetings typing instead of listening. Now we all run Granola, an AI notepad that works from your computer’s audio.

Here’s what each of us does next, so you can borrow whichever habit fits.

Cameron (Ops): send it before the next call

Cameron has Granola running in the background, so she can share the summary and action items as soon as the meeting ends.

Andy (Co-Founder): plan the week from it

Andy uses Granola’s Chat feature to summarize his meetings for the week, turning what was actually discussed into next week’s top priorities.

Kailey (Sales): check what she promised

Kailey asks Granola’s Chat feature for a list of deliverables and due dates, then sets reminders. Before a follow-up, she asks Granola, “Did I mention pricing or promise any deliverables?”

Tyler (Marketing): set up the call in ten seconds

Tyler opens each call with a line about why he’s there and what he wants from it. That gives Granola context and confirms it’s running. He also added the names and shorthand it kept misspelling, which took about two seconds.

Joanna (Co-Founder): take it to conferences

At in-person events, Joanna keeps Granola running for the whole session and focuses on the speakers. Afterward, she turns the transcript into takeaways she can share with the team.

Try it on your next meeting and see why we’re obsessed.

👉 Download Granola and try it in your next meeting.

PRIORITIZATION

A woman with long dark hair sits in front of a microphone, with the text “Have you heard of the Eisenhower Matrix” displayed across the video thumbnail.

Everything Feels Urgent? Sort Your To-Do List Into 4 Boxes

Takeaways:

  • Use the Eisenhower Matrix to organize tasks based on urgency and importance. Divide your to-do list into four categories: do urgent and important tasks immediately, schedule important but non-urgent tasks for later, delegate urgent but less important tasks, and eliminate tasks that are neither urgent nor important.
  • Start each week by identifying your most important and urgent problem. Instead of getting caught up in smaller tasks or whatever feels easiest to tackle, ask yourself, “What’s the most important and urgent problem I need to solve?” Then prioritize work that directly addresses it.
  • Focus your time on work that moves you closer to your long-term goals. Ask which tasks will matter most six months from now, and give those your best hours. For leaders, this means dedicating attention to high-stakes decisions and responsibilities that require their direct involvement, while delegating or eliminating lower-priority work.
