LA’s Devastating Fires This Week (& Ways to Support)

On Tuesday morning, I turned a meeting into a walking call. A few minutes in, I noticed massive billows of smoke rising from the Palisades area. Initially, I assumed it was a wildfire that would be contained within hours—unaware it would become one of the most destructive fires in Los Angeles history.

Witnessing the relentless advance of the flames from my rooftop was surreal. Even now, three days later, I’m grappling with a whirlwind of emotions: heartbreak for those who lost their homes and memories, helplessness in the face of such destruction, and disbelief at the obliteration of cherished areas like Pacific Palisades and the devastation wrought by the Eaton Fire in Pasadena and Altadena. This city, the place I’ve called home my whole life, has been profoundly scarred.

Adding to the turmoil is a deep-seated anger. Outrage toward Polymarket for taking bets on how long these fires will last, and others seeking to profit from this disaster. Individuals exacerbating the chaos through acts of arson—which ignited the Kenneth Fire, consuming nearly 1,000 acres—looting homes, and politicizing the tragedy instead of focusing on community support.

In response, I’m channeling my energy into proactive measures. With the support of my team and friends, we’ve compiled a list of ways you can assist, no matter where you’re located:
