“Healing comes from taking responsibility: to realize that it is you — and no one else — that creates your thoughts, your feelings, and your actions.” — Peter Shepherd

FOR THE MIND

Action Over Perfection

Let’s face it, we all want to be perfect. We want to be the best version of ourselves, to do everything right, and to never make any mistakes.

But here’s the thing: perfection is an illusion. No matter how hard we try, we’ll never be perfect. So why bother striving for it?

Instead, we should focus on taking action. We should focus on doing something, even if it’s not perfect.

Because action leads to progress.

Every time we take a step forward, we’re one step closer to our goals.

Easier said than done, though.

It’s easy to get caught up in the idea of perfection, to want everything to be just right before we take action — but that’s a recipe for procrastination.

If we wait until everything is perfect, we’ll never get anything done.

So what can we do?

We can start by changing our mindset and embracing the idea that action is more important than perfection.

We can remind ourselves that it’s okay to make mistakes, and that failure is just a part of the process.

Another thing we can do is to set realistic goals. It’s important to have a vision of where we want to go, but we also need to break that vision down into achievable steps.

If we try to do too much too soon, we’re setting ourselves up for failure.

Write your goals down and put them somewhere where you can see them, and review your progress regularly.

Finally, we can learn to let go of our need for control. We can’t control everything, and that’s okay.

Sometimes, we just have to take a leap of faith and trust that everything will work out — essentially, trust the process.

PSA: Wear Your Sunscreen

As we head into the summer months, it’s important to remember that sunscreen isn’t just for the beach — it’s a crucial step in protecting your skin from harmful UV rays all year round.

Why is sunscreen so important?

The obvious answer is that it helps prevent skin cancer. According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, using sunscreen regularly can reduce your risk of developing skin cancer by up to 50%.

But it’s not just skin cancer that we need to worry about. UV rays can also cause premature aging, dark spots, and wrinkles. Using sunscreen can help prevent this.

Something many people don’t realize is that blue light from electronics can also have negative effects on your skin.

That’s right — spending too much time staring at your phone or computer screen can lead to hyperpigmentation, inflammation, and even damage to your skin’s DNA.

Here are fave sunscreens:
